West Grove >> State Police responded to Fred S. Engle Middle School due to comments that were written in a girl’s bathroom on the first floor of the school. The comments referenced a school shooting that is anticipated to take place. These comments don’t appear to be credible. The State Police would like to remind parents and students that any comments written or expressed about anticipated school shootings, are taken extremely seriously. Students in violation of this crime are likely to be expelled from school and have criminal charges filed against them.

“Avon Grove School District’s top priority is student safety and the district takes threats such as these extremely seriously,” said Superintendent Dr. M. Christopher Marchese. “In addition to the extensive safety, security and emergency response measures in place, the district is working closely with state and local authorities to ensure that our schools continue to be a safe place to learn.”

Anyone with any information is requested to contact the State Police Station of Avondale at 610-268-2022. Reference incident number PA18-525742.

As a precaution there will be an increase of police presence at the school.
