Chester Springs >> There will be a public meeting on opioid abuse on May 1 in Chester Springs.
Called “Prayer and Understanding of Substance Abuse in Chester County Homes,” the event will take place at St. Elizabeth Church, 120 Saint Elizabeth Drive, Chester Springs at 7 p.m.
In Chester County, there were 141 deaths from overdose in 2017 compared to 106 in 2016. In the last three years, 547 people have died of drug overdoses in the county; 69 percent of those deaths were men. Of those men, 47 percent were in the 25-44 age range.
